Award for Champagne Alfred Gratien

Les Trophées Champenois names Nicolas Jaeger Cellar Master of the Year for 2018

A great honour for a great cellar master, as Nicolas Jaeger of the fine champagne cellar Alfred Gratien again receives an award. Jaeger was named the 2018 Cellar Master of the Year in the prestigious Les Trophées Champenois competition, honouring his contribution to the image enhancement of the Champagne region. Nicolas Jaeger shared a spot on the shortlist with Pierre Laud of Pommery and Michel Fauconnet of Laurent Perrier.

A passionate cellar master of the fourth generation

This comes as yet another recognition of the work of champagne expert Jaeger after having been named chef des caves by the prestigious wine guide Le Guide Hachette des Vins last autumn. Alfred Gratien has been traditionally produced by the Jaeger family for more than a century. Nicolas Jaeger has inherited as the fourth generation a family tradition of cellar master craftsmanship, passion for refinement techniques and special creativity in producing this noble beverage, enabling him to add his own distinct, enriching touch. The result is an exquisite and unique champagne of special depth and complexity for the true connoisseur.

The fine boutique winery Alfred Gratien in Épernay is devoted to making products of the highest quality in limited quantities. The most recent award bestowed upon the winery’s experienced cellar master underscores the sagacity of this philosophy.
