Freixenet Italian Pinot Noir Sparkling named finalist in 2019 Travel Retail Awards

• Freixenet is one of the finalist brands in the consumer-voted awards that   ­recognise the products most highly valued by consumers

• More than 5,000 international travelers voted in this year’s edition

• Freixenet launched the Italian Pinot Noir Sparkling in order to reach new  audiences and attract younger consumers

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, 28th March 2019. Freixenet Italian Pinot Noir Sparkling has been recognised as a finalist in this year’s consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards. This prize is awarded to the most highly valued products in airports all over the world according to the opinions of the consumers themselves. It is the only award in the Duty Free industry that is chosen exclusively by consumers.

Freixenet Italian Pinot Noir is a sparkling wine with pale pink color launched by the company in order to reach new audiences and attract younger consumers, such as millennials, and introduce them to the world of sparkling wines. This product has a coupage of 100% Pinot Noir grapes harvested in Italy and its fine, delicate bubbles are very well balanced with the fruit character and a crisp acidity.

In this way, Freixenet is strengthening its ties with consumers and consolidating its positioning as a leading brand in the wine sector worldwide. The company is proud to have been selected as a finalist for this independent, consumer-voted award. In that respect, Freixenet was evaluated by more than 5,000 independent participants, selected from the unique database of travelers provided by m1nd-set, a leading Swiss market research company. 70% of the voting was carried out by consumers who have travelled internationally through an airport within the past six months. The remaining 30% corresponds to the evaluations of influencers and bloggers with extensive experience in the travel sector. According to sources from within the organisation, owing to the high volume of entries this year, only the brands in the wine category that reached an extremely high baseline score were selected to become finalists. The award ceremony will be held on Monday 13 May at the Hotel Conrad in Singapore.
