Gifting Season with Freixenet: Travel Retail engagement activation by Henkell Freixenet at Barcelona T1 airport
Wiesbaden, November 2025. After a successful campaign in 2024, Henkell Freixenet, the world’s leading sparkling wine company, is set to repeat its activation and launch a grand finale for the upcoming season, showcasing its icon brand Freixenet in Global Travel Retail: From end of October till January 7th, 2026 Henkell Freixenet will launch a striking activation at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Occupying 17 square meters within the Avolta shop in Terminal 1, the initiative reinforces the global leadership of the iconic Freixenet brand. In the space, travelers can enjoy a glass of Freixenet’s key products at the tasting bar and exclusively personalize their purchased bottles with an elegant ribbon that includes a customized message. Additionally, Freixenet sparkling wines now also feature on board Air Europa flights.

Henkell Freixenet is excited to introduce not only Freixenet Prosecco but also the world’s best-selling cava, Freixenet Cordon Negro, as well as innovations like the Freixenet French Cuveés Royal. All products will be available for tasting during the activation. Showcasing a bar and three stocking units, the concept is designed to deliver a memorable and premium shopper experience that attracts travelers, drives trial, and ultimately leads to purchase. Focusing on the upcoming season, the experience will be anchored around gifting, featuring a special ribbon bar as key novelty, where customers will be able to personalize their bottles with a decorative elegant ribbon that includes a customized message. A unique and emotional way to add a personal touch – ideal for names, special dates, travel destinations and more!

From october 1st, 2025 Freixenet sparkling wines feature on board of Air Europa flights. Connecting Palma with major airports across Spain and Europe, passengers can enjoy a Freixenet Cordon Rosé on their next flight with Air Europa at cruising altitude. “This partnership marks a significant milestone for our brand. As market leader, we seized the opportunity to offer travelers a new sparkling experience during their flight and we’re confident that this will boost brand visibility and encourage product trial among a wide audience”, says Ramon Olives.
