World’s Best Vineyards 2022: Schloss Johannisberg awarded 5th place amongst the best wine estates in the world

Schloss Johannisberg, October 2022. Schloss Johannisberg has risen to 5th place among the World’s Best Vineyards 2022, the highest distinction for any German wine estate this year. The result was announced in Mendoza, Argentina’s wine capital, at this year’s Top 50 World’s Best Vineyards awards.

The rankings are based on votes awarded by more than 500 leading wine experts, sommeliers and travel journalists from all around the globe.

The 2022 list is more international than ever before, with 20 countries from all six continents being represented. Andrew Reed, Managing Director Wine and Exhibitions at William Reed commented: “The World’s Best Vineyards highlights wine tourism destinations around the globe and now that travel is back on the cards, this year’s list is more important than ever for raising profiles with tourists and those looking for authentic and unique trips.”

According to the managing directors, Stefan Doktor and Marcel Szopa: “This award is an honour and acknowledgement for our vineyard and the entire team. It spurs us on, as leading Riesling vineyard in the world, to continue in our pursuit of quality and captivate wine-lovers around the globe with our first class Riesling wines.”
