HENKELL FREIXENET AND CASSIDY WINES JOIN FORCES IN IRELAND

Wiesbaden/Dublin, 1st September 2026. Henkell Freixenet and Cassidy Wines are joining forces in Ireland. Henkell Freixenet has acquired a 60% stake in Cassidy Wines, bringing together the two companies’ complementary portfolios, market expertise and capabilities. The combined business will operate under the established Cassidy Wines name as part of the Henkell Freixenet group, with the ambition of becoming one of Ireland´s leading wine distribution companies.

With almost 50 years of experience in the Irish wine trade, Cassidy Wines combines deep local market expertise with long-standing customer relationships and a strong portfolio of renowned international brand partners. The Republic of Ireland offers attractive growth potential, with the sparkling wine market recording a CAGR of 6 % over the past ten years¹. Together with Henkell Freixenet’s international portfolio and global network, the enlarged business will offer customers and suppliers access to a broader portfolio and enhanced distribution capabilities across the Republic of Ireland. Cassidy Wines will continue to operate from its modern bonded warehouse in Citywest.
