Guided Tour „Traditional bottle fermentation“

EXPERIENCE ARTISAN SPARKLING WINE CRAFT AND TEST 3 PREMIUM SPARKLING WINES: € 18

The production of sparkling wine is a special craft which our winery has always cultivated and developed with passion. But how exactly can selected grapes be turned into a sparkling pleasure? We would like to share this with you. Our guided tour starts in the marble hall, during which time you have the opportunity to experience traditional bottle fermentation up close and personal. And when you come to the sparkling wine production, this process also becomes tangible for you, at the very latest.

Everything begins with a Tirage filling and subsequent fermentation in the bottle, before moving on to the riddle rack. Here, by means of constant turning, the yeast sinks to the bottleneck. Have you ever seen how yeast freezes? This happens in the subsequent ice bath and is necessary to remove it. This process is called disgorging. After the filling dosage, which gives the sparkling wine its desired flavour, as well as following the corking and wiring, we cordially invite you to try the result. The tour ends with a visit to our Henkell Freixenet shop.

Sparkling wine manufacture special for (sparkling)wine lovers: Vinophile wine trip, 3h, €45 p.p.
